“The thing with October is, I think, it somehow gets in your very blood. Unapologetically. Almost ruthlessly.” ~Anne Sexton Hey Friend!! 👋🏻 I woke up this morning and realized October is halfway over. We didn’t even start decorating for Halloween until yesterday. Oops. 😅 That’s kind of the thing with this time of year…it starts to pick up speed and it doesn’t seem to stop until January. But there is STILL time to enjoy most of the produce October has to offer, so be sure to pick a seasonal favorite and get cookin'! Speaking of seasonal produce, I published my first butternut squash recipe to the site, butternut squash rigatoni alla vodka, and it’s EXCLUSIVE for Patreon subscribers. Members have shared that they’ve made and loved the recipe already, which is pretty much the best feedback any food blogger ever hopes for. 🥹 Not sure you wanna join a snail mail club? 👀I also created THE DIGITAL DISH: a digital only subscription that grants you access to all the ad-free blog posts I have been sharing with my snail mail members in The Paper Plate Club! For $2/month, you get access to a new ad-free blog post each month, so you can cook along with us! 🕰️ the time warpI’ve been sort of consumed with running a snail mail club over on Patreon, which has weirdly turned out to be one of the most fun parts of my business in years. The best part is probably the feedback I’ve been getting each month. Someone recently told me that they let out a happy scream so loud at the mailbox that their neighbors heard them. 😂 I’ve also been really busy over on YouTube. One of my videos from February is poppin’ off + became my first video to pass 10k views over there, which is a VERY exciting milestone to hit. 🎉 It’s my Disney rice krispie treat recipe, and I have a fun way to turn them into Halloween treats! 👻 I’m actually super proud to say that despite being busy the past couple months, I’ve been super present, too. This is something I always kinda struggle with, being present, in the moment, and not worrying about the future or the past. But this month, even though it’s flown by so far, has been one I’ve been actively participating in each day. So I’m calling it a win!!! 👻 a familiar haunting…Of course, I would be remiss if I didn’t haunt you with my seasonal classic candy corn recipes. Whether you love it or hate it, it’s the best time of year to buy a bag and make something a little weird. 😜 Thank you so much for being here, and for sharing your inbox with me, I appreciate any and all time we have together! I definitely didn't sit down this evening thinking this would be a Back to the Future themed email, but here we are. Plus...it sorta works. 😂 I hope October has been fun for you so far, and that spooky szn brings you lots of treats! I’ll check back in on November 1st (which speaking of time travel, is when daylight saving ends—woof)! Cheers for now! 🥂💕 P.S. Last year, I shared my favorite not-so-scary Halloween movies with email subscribers and people loved it, so if you are looking for some Halloween movies to watch that won’t give you nightmares for days, reply to this email and I’ll send my infographic your way!!! |
